I am healed! GOD has given me eyes to see and ears to hear. He has delivered me from obscurity and given me a home with Him. Since entering
the Harvest Center of Charlotte’s program, I’ve been blessed with a relationship with Christ, and my faith has increased twenty times over. I now have stability in the Lord. I have a great job that I enjoy and hope for the future is brighter than even I imagined. My spirit is happy in the Lord. Praise GOD from whom all blessings flow. Becoming a part of the transformation program at the Harvest Center of Charlotte has been a humbling experience. I have been blessed with associations that probably would never have taken place had GOD not brought me here. I pray that GOD will grow The Harvest Center resources so that many more lives can be touched, healed, and transformed as mine has been. Thank you Father GOD for the Harvest Center of Charlotte!

My name is Muwanna . Being raised in a loveless foster home, I became bitter and angry. I began to make lots of bad choices, including drug and alcohol use. At my darkest hour, I began a recovery program. There I learned of a loving God that I had never known. Coming out of recovery, I so needed help getting my life back on track. I have found such stability, practical assistance and moral support through the Harvest Center. I was even able to pursue a degree in Criminal Justice. I am the very first person in my family to ever attend college! I am presently in the “work phase” of the Harvest Center’s Transitional Program, so I am looking for employment in my field as a security guard. I am praying that someone will give me a chance to prove myself. I am willing to work any hours and to work very hard. My eventual goal is to become a Parole Officer to help others having pasts similar to my own. I want to give back because of all the love and support that I have received from those around me.

I began volunteering at The Harvest Center of Charlotte about 11 years ago and now serve as board Chair and teacher in the ACE class. In 2004, I felt God prompting me to get involved in an organization that served the poor. I was immediately drawn to The Harvest Center of Charlotte because its mission is to transform lives both physically and spiritually. Over the last 10 years, The Harvest Center of Charlotte has been a place where you can clearly see God at work every day. Many of my most treasured friendships have developed through serving here - with other volunteers, the staff and with the guests that we serve. The Harvest Center of Charlotte is a place where many of the barriers that divide us in other parts of our society are broken down, whether black/white, rich/poor or young/old. None of that matters as we get to know one another with a common purpose. I also love that everything at The Harvest Center of Charlotte is centered in Jesus Christ. Our guiding principles include seeking the wisdom of Jesus in all of our decisions and glorifying Him in everything that we do. Over the years, I have seen these principles put into action. I love being a small part of the miracles that God does in people’s lives. Most of the people who have experienced change in their lives at The Harvest Center of Charlotte are so grateful to the staff, the volunteers and especially to God. Many can’t believe that there are people in Charlotte who really want to help them and see their lives transformed. The Harvest Center of Charlotte is a place where I have seen many lives changed, including my own.
